How do I export my data?
Open Ledger → Settings and look for Your data. There are two downloads, and you don't have to ask anyone for either.
- The ledger, as a CSV. Every expense and repayment, one row each, with a column for what each of you paid and a column for what each of you owed. It opens in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, and the columns add up to the total — so you can check our arithmetic.
- Everything, as JSON. Your shopping items, stock, meals, meal plans, tasks, shifts, chores and assistant chats, in a format another program can read.
Both files are built on your own device and aren't sent anywhere. The JSON also lists what it deliberately leaves out — your login details, which live with our authentication provider rather than in our database, and the push credentials your phone uses for notifications, which are secrets belonging to the device rather than facts about you.
There's no paid tier for this and there never will be. Exporting is how you leave, and an app that makes leaving difficult is telling you something about how confident it is that you'd stay.
