Most apps in this space do a single job. Flatastic doesn't — it puts a cleaning rota, a shared shopping list, expense splitting and a household pinboard in one place, for flatshares, families and couples alike. It's independent, funded by subscriptions rather than by selling data, and it's been doing this for years. If you're comparing it to OurTab you're asking the right question, because the overlap is real.
Where the two actually differ
In Flatastic those four things are four things. The list is a list, the expenses are expenses, and ticking an item off the shopping list has no bearing on either.
In OurTab they're one loop. Ticking something off doesn't delete it — it becomes stock. Stock is what dinner is suggested from. Dinner tells the list what's missing. The shop posts itself to the ledger already split, priced from the order you pasted rather than typed. You log the week once and it does four jobs.
The rota knows who's home
This is the bigger difference, and it's the one no other app in the category has. OurTab holds both people's working patterns — including rotating shifts — so it knows when you're both actually in. Chores are generated around that: nobody gets the hoovering on a day they're working until 2am, jobs are spaced out, and a paired chore like washing up can slide to the partner's lighter day. A rota that shares out tasks evenly across the week isn't fair if one of you is on lates that week.

Flatastic is built for a flatshare — five people, someone moving out in June, someone new in July. OurTab assumes a small household that stays put, and it's honestly weaker when people come and go. Flatastic also has a proper noticeboard for a house that needs to talk to itself, which OurTab doesn't have at all.
